Cookies what would we do without a good ole cookie once in awhile? Yes, we all have to watch our weight and yes, we do have to eat healthy, but seriously can you always resist the temptation? I know I struggle daily. That is why I always bake a double or triple batch-----have to have room for dough tasting and finished product tasting. And please do not forget the "mistakes" made along the way! :)

Over the years I have tried out various sugar cookie recipes with the following being my all-time favorite.

a Junesgiving

Junesgiving? Yes you read correctly, yestersday we celebrated Junesgiving! It all started when my girlfriend Kim said she still had a butterball in her freezer and did I want it since they would be moving. Well, who says no to a butterball? But, instead of putting the bird in the freezer for November, I suggested we celebrate Thanksgiving a few months early....hence Junesgiving. Since we would all not be together for the real date in November, it made sense to me!

It was just as we had hoped....delicious! We altered the menue just a touch to more fit into the summer season....sweet potato fries instead of a sweet potato casserole, green bean salad, corn on the cob and garlic baquettes instead of dinner rolls. Kim also brought a pumpkin pie, Jodi and Mary brought the drinks and we all happily stuffed our faces!!!!

At first I thought it would be totally wierd---turkey in June----but I was wrong! It was as always amazing!
