Just could not resist this rose bush the other day. Yes I know I have gone way over budget this year(as I do ever year!) But, let´s be honest....who could leave this beautiful rose bush at the plant store?

31st Avon Women´s Run_10 May 2014

Today is the day. I am participating in the Avon Women´s Run in Berlin....well I am nordic walking 5K! REally can not see myself running that far, but the walking I can do. The picture I am posting to Pink Saturday today is of my t-shirt, how fitting that it is pink!

This 5K Nordic Walk is for all the women in my life who have fought their own cancer fight. Here´s to:

• Carol, Michele´s Mom who bravely batteled ovarian cancer. I miss her and think of her often.
• Martina, who fought brain cancer with all her might till the very end. She guided me through my travel agency training years in Cloppenburg.
• Kim, who batteled breast cancer and won!
• Sabine, who did not let breast cancer surgery stop her from celebrating thanksgiving with us last year(she convinced the surgeon to let her leave the hospital for a few hours(drainage bags and all!) I look forward to many more thanksgivings with her!
• Tante Anneliese(my aunt), who did not let breast cancer surgery stop her from traveling to germany to spend time with us. She too is a survivor.
• Martha, a survior and 10K power walker today
• Lily....a little girl that thanks to social media has become a part of my life. She is now 300 days cancer free! You can follow her miracle story  at http://teamlillybumpus.com/

THis day is for all of you! You are all in my heart today and every day  and even though the weather is far from perfect, this will be a good day!

Teddy Bears Birthday

Do you all remember way back when I posted some pictures of pink material and told you all about this teddy bear I wanted to sew? Well, last fall I FINALLY got the job down. Kuddos to my girldfriend Birgit who helped me...without her I am pretty sure this teddy bear would still be just a pile of fluff. Clara turned 3 in November and since her favorite color is pink..... or "mädchen Farbe/girl color " as she calls it, I thought a pink teddy bear was just the right thing!

Now is this not the coolest thing you have ever seen? Germans have a many traditions, one of them is to celebrate milestones birthdays. The 18th Birthday is one of the big ones here, as you are then officially and adult and more importantly.....you can drive a car. So, when my girlfriends daughter turned 18 and wished for a pick up truck, her friends got busy! Now, remember these are young adults just starting out in life and cash is short. The cash shortage, though did not stop them....as you can see below....

Summer Flowers

This "Pink Saturday" I thought to share with you a picture of my flowers....just took this one. I bought these geraniums at IKEA early in the season...what a deal I think one container was 2.98€. So I bought three(could not carry more and I was too lazy to go get a cart) I soo wish I had bought more as these have turned out to be the best plants in the garden this year. Anyways, we are lucky enough to have some good weather--the plants are loving it and so am I.

So much pink, I could not decide which picture to feature this week, so I am showcasing all of them! The sweet babies are my great niece Clara and great nephew Felix. They came to visit last week. I would also like to tell you about my new kitchen handtowels. They were a gift from my niece Heidi. So perfect for me! Thanks Heidi and Thanks Mareike and Mom for coming to visit me! I did enjoy having you all here.

Good Morning! an extreme desire to have to itch the bug bites has me up since 5am! That gives me some time to spend in my garden and simply enjoy the peace and quiet before the craziness a Saturday brings with it begins... wishing you all a great Saturday!

Christmas Gifts from friends and families!

I was one lucky "cupcake" girl this holiday season. My girlfriend Adriana gave me cupcake ornaments! My nieces kept the theme going, by giving me pink cupcake ornaments-these with the cupcake liner!

Hope your holidays were a happy time---it is so hard to get back in the swing of things! Wishing you all a great start in the new year.

A gift just in time!°

This past week I ran out of vanilla extract---a problem when you live in Germany--you can not just run out to the next grocery store and buy another bottle. Lucky for me, some friends came over for dinner last night and she brought me a bottle as a gift. So thankful as I had cakes to bake this morning.

What makes this bottle extra special is that proceeds of the sale benefits the  Suasan G. Komen for the Cure Fondation.

Cricut!!!!

I got a cricut!!! Well, actually I purchased the cricut cake this past March while in Wheaton visiting family-but just today I have finally had the time and the right state of mind to try it out! And look at that? It worked!!! The crowns I made are for a little girl named Sofia who is celebrating her 3rd birthday this Sunday.

Saturday Morning in my garden

Good Morning!
one of my many morning rituals is to enjoy my first cup of tea out on the patio.. My garden is sooo peaceful in the early morning hours---that time when the neighborhood is still asleep---all you hear are the birds!
Today, I grabbed the camera and took a stroll through the yard. Although, nothing pink---I still would like to share these pictures with you on this this Pink Saturday.
