A surprise Thanksgiving

Greetings Everyone and Happy Tablescape Thursday! How are you all doing? Ready for Christmas? Presents wrapped and stockings stuffed? I am slightly behind schedule this year. The house is decorated, yet I still have  to bake the cookies and do the shopping. But, before I delve into all the Christmas Chaos I would like to share with you one of my thanksgiving tables.

Last year for my mothers birthday, I had bought martini glasses and recreated a holiday decoration I had seen in a magazine years ago.

Even had left over napkins from last years party! The napkins were also the inspiration for the silver and white tablescape.

The fireplace lit---it was nice and cozy when the guests arrived.

I love my individual gravy boats!

a view from above!

Champagne for our guests!

The candles are lit....

The food is ready

The guest of honor!!!......(as always we grill our turkey on the gas grill-----soooooooooo goood!)

Now to reveal my secret....did you notice the dishes? They are not real----they are disposable!!! Awesome.!

I am usually not one to use disposable dishes, but these dishes look so real.....

Happy Thursday Everyone!

yellow--orange and white----CANDY CORN!

This year I celebrated Halloween at Kim´s house---she lives in a great neighborhood where you get the "GOOD STUFF"! The young ones went trick or treating and afterwards everyone enjoyed an awesome buffet. Back home my husband and son took care of all the trick or treaters we welcomed----actually ran out of candy this year!!!

In the last of my series of Halloween tables, I brought out those yellow chargers I bought at IKEA and created a candy corn setting. As Thanksgiving is quickly upon us, I wish you all happy holidays--lots of juicy turkey and football games in the backyard.!

Kisses for Halloween

By now everyone knows that I love Halloween - nothing new, right? Right! So, sit back and enjoy a tablescape with a touch of purple!

We picked up these skelton Cups a few years back--they were a perfect addition to this table. Oh and look there is that mouse again.

Who can resist a skull and a some hersheys kisses--of course in purple!

One of my new additions this holiday season-a purple pumpkin! The inspiration for this table setting.

The little lights on the table were bought at Kik--a discount store here in Germany--3 for Euro!

Here in Kleinmachnow(Berlin) we are enjoying an incredible bright and sunny November. So not what we should be having---which would be rain, gray gloomy skies, and more rain! Nope, Mother Nature is making up for the lousy or should I say lack of summer that we had! The following pictures were taken by my son and I this afternoon--I think we got some pretty cool shots.....

Halloween!

My favorite holiday is upon us----Halloween! Sometimes I wish i had more than just one dining room table---so many ideas for a themed tablescape!

The napkin ring holders come from IHR Servietten in Cloppenburg (bargin at 1 euro a piece!)

The tablerunner was a gift from my sister and was the inspiration for this tablescape.

Every holiday I seem to be able to find something new and unique to add to my collection of decorations--  Esmerelda the witch as I call her was this years find--another bargin at 11 euros! (I must admit I had waited for a weeks for TK MAXX to mark her down and they did!!!) The spider candle holder is yet another fun gift from my sister Heidi, who also is a Halloween Fan.

A cute owl from my mom!

Ah and every witch needs a mouse near by!

The stemware is a collection of different colored wine glasses that I bought on ebay.

The dishware--both orange and black are from IKEA!!
The black tablecloth is simply a few yards of black material--some day I am going to have to make time hem the darn thing so that it looks proper.

Happy Halloween Everyone! Hope to see you all next week again at Tablescape Thursday, hosted by Between Naps on the Porch
