2 little boys, one cute out and 16 years in between!

My girlfriend has beautiful children. The oldest Phillip is in 1st grade and is a Stars Wars Fan. Number 2 is Sofia, she turns four soon and is all girl! And then there is Frank Josef-6 months and the cutest-happiest baby I have seen, well since my son was born 16 years ago. (okay okay, of course my nieces, nephew and great niece and nephew were too the cutest babies) but Frank has something that I just can not  put my finger on. Sometimes I get in my car, drive 25 minutes just to take him in arms-- my Frank Fix as I call it.

Now to the reason I am telling you all this.....

This past week, due to lousy weather I went up into the attic to finally organize, went to Ikea got lots of containers and I started to purge as best I could. And I was doing great till I came upon the suitcases with the baby clothes. As I went through the shirts, the onesies, the little socks and shoes I came accross the gymboree outfits that my sister had given to me. Wow, 16 years later these outfits are in perfect condition there was no way I could just give these to good will. And then I though of Frank--hoping he would be able to wear the  outfits. And as you can see in the pictures below he does!!!!! I love the outfit he has on today---have a picture of my son Mike wearing it too--both boys smiling away.

Mini Appetizers...

This week my entry in Foodie Friday is Mini Mac and Cheese in Parmesan Cups!

A few years ago I was watching the food network(back when I had a sling box) and Giada was hosting a show that featured an out of this world wedding. The appetizers were all mini´s and Mini Mac and Cheese  was one of them. So, in my quest to put together the menu for an upcoming event I thought of this recipe and tried it out. YUMMY!

You can find the recipe at the food network site http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/behind-the-bash/macaroni-and-cheese-in-parmesan-cups-recipe/index.html

Golden Days

In a few weeks I will be catering a dinner and now that the menu is set, it is time to come up with a tablescape. The dishes that will be used, are white with a gold trim so I took the gold idea and came up with the following three tablescapes. All are basically the same, the only difference is the candels/vases. Of course one can not get yet the full picture as flowers are missing--I was thinking of a simple white flowers, something small and elegant.

Idea #1

Idea #2

Idea #3

What do you think? I am leaning towards Idea #1---will pass the pictures on to my client and see what she says!

Happy Tablecape Thursday Everyone!

Heaven.......

So, what do you do when you have melted chocolate, home-made caramel with a touch fleur de Sel, and new praline form? Well, in this crazy household, you make just a little bit of heaven.... Oh my... there are simply no words to describe how good these little pralines are. It is just the right bit of chocolate and the caramel.... :)  Now, as you can see from the pictures they are by far not perfect yet, as I really think the caramel should be hidden, but for the first time out---pretty darn amazing if I do say so myself.

Happy Friday Everyone! I hope you enjoy the pictures and the idea! Do remember to stop by Foodie Friday for more great recipes and ideas!
