A tribute to Oma Veldtrup

Hello Everyone! How are you all doing today? I am having a good day/health wise and am happy that I can spend some time with you. This week I set a special tablescape to honor the memory of my niece´s and nephew´s grandmother. In a way she was also a grandmother to me-she her back door was always open for visitors and she made the best soup ever! One of Oms´s passions was to crochet and make tablecloths. She always thought of me and so it came she gave a small pink table runner. Well, she also put together a tablecloth in the same color for a large table--I just simply adored that tablecloth and hoped that one day she would surprise me. Unfortunately, Oma passed away a few years ago-she is greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Back in December 2010, my niece Mareike asked me to come to Cloppenburg and help her with the preparations for Clara´s baptism(my great niece!! --- makes me sound so old!) We had a wonderful weekend and shortly before I left to go back to Berlin-I got that surprise I was always dreaming about---the beautiful pink tablecloth! So, this week I set the table with my finest china, best crystal and that tablecloth!!!

Since the tablecloth is such a pretty shade of pink, this post is also my entry for PINK SATURDAY over at How Sweet the Sound with our wonderful host Beverly.

The silver charger plates are on loan from my friend Mary.
The silver wrapped chocolate heart is a Hershey´s  Kiss- my girlfriend Kim gave those to me this week.

                           Thank you Girls!

I picked up the beautiful white roses at my local flower shop-just 5 minutes away for 6 euros.

I just love my new crystal place card holders-they go perfectly with this tablescape!

Here a closer look at the lace.
And that crystal bowl you ask? That was a gift from my florida girlfriend Kirstina. She brought that back from   her trip to Ireland.

Ah, those crystals! If only they were real diamonds!!!!

Oma Veldtrup!

Do make sure to stop by at Between Naps on the Porch for many more wonderful tablescapes. And of course take a few moments to enjoy all the pink at How Sweet the Sound.
